AVG Semiconductors, also known as HITEK (High-Tech Semiconductors), was a semiconductor company based in the United Kingdom that specialized in the design and manufacture of high-voltage analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs).
The company was founded in 1975 and developed a reputation for producing high-quality, reliable ICs for use in a variety of applications, including telecommunications, automotive, industrial, and medical systems. HITEK's product portfolio included high-voltage linear and switching regulators, high-voltage op-amps, power management ICs, and LED drivers.
In 2015, HITEK was acquired by Intersil Corporation, a semiconductor company based in the United States. Following the acquisition, HITEK's product portfolio was integrated into Intersil's portfolio, and the HITEK brand was phased out. Today, the products that were previously offered by HITEK are marketed and sold under the Intersil brand.
