Brief Description of 1N4942


The 1N4942 is a silicon rectifier diode designed for general purpose rectification applications. It has a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 200V and a maximum average forward rectified current of 1A. The maximum surge current is 30A.

The 1N4942 is housed in an axial lead package and has a forward voltage drop of 1.0V at 1A. It has a maximum junction temperature of 175°C and an operating temperature range of -65°C to +175°C.

The 1N4942 can be used in many applications such as power supplies, battery chargers, and DC-DC converters. It is commonly used as a rectifier in half-wave and full-wave rectifier circuits.
