Brief Description of NE5532

The NE5532 is a high-performance, low-noise dual operational amplifier (op-amp) integrated circuit (IC) that is widely used in high-fidelity audio and precision signal processing applications. Originally developed by Signetics (later acquired by Philips and NXP), it has become a standard in the audio industry for its excellent sound quality and low distortion characteristics.

The NE5532 consists of two independent op-amps with low total harmonic distortion (THD), low noise (typically 5 nV/√Hz), and high slew rate (9 V/μs), making it ideal for professional audio preamplifiers, mixers, equalizers, and active filters. It features a high gain-bandwidth product of 10 MHz and operates over a wide supply voltage range of ±3V to ±20V.
