The SCL and SDA interface pins temperature measurement channel in a single require pullup resistors as part of the communication VSSOP-8 package. The TMP411-Q1 is two-wire- and bus, whereas ALERT and THERM are open-drain SMBus interface-compatible and is specified over an outputs that also need pullup resistors. ALERT and ambient temperature range of −40°C to 125°C. The THERM may be shared with other devices if desired TMP411-Q1 contains multiple registers for holding for a wired-OR implementation. A 0.1- μF power- configuration information, temperature measurement supply bypass capacitor is recommended for good results, temperature comparator maximum/minimum local bypassing. Figure 11 shows a typical limits, and status information. configuration for the TMP411-Q1. User-programmed high- and low-temperature limits stored in the TMP411-Q1 can be used to trigger an over- or undertemperature alarm (ALERT) on local and remote temperatures. Additional thermal limits can be programmed into the TMP411-Q1 and used to trigger another flag (THERM) that can be used to initiate a system response to rising temperatures. A. Diode −connected configuration provides better settling time. Transistor−connected configuration provides better series resistance cancellation. B. RS (optional) should be <1.5 kΩ in most applications. Selection of RS depends on specific application; see Filtering section. C. CDIFF (optional) should be <1000 pF in most applications. Selection of CDIFF depends on specific application; see Filtering section and Figure 6, Remote Temperature Error vs Differential Capacitance. Figure 11.
