Flag CY – OV – S – Z – SAT – Instruction JARL Jump and Register Link Explanation Saves the current PC value plus 4 to general-purpose register reg2, adds the current PC value and 22-bit displacement, sign-extended to word length, and transfers control to the PC. Bit 0 of the 22-bit displacement is masked by 0. Remark The current PC value used for calculation is the address of the first byte of this instruction. If the displacement value is 0, the branch destination is this instruction itself. This instruction is equivalent to a call subroutine instruction, and stores the restore PC address in general-purpose register reg2. The JMP instruction, which is equivalent to a subroutine- return instruction, can be used to specify the general-purpose register storing the restore PC as general-purpose register reg1. |
