RoHS is an abbreviation of Restriction of Hazardous Substances, and is an environmental regulation enforced by the EU (European Union) from July 1, 2006.
RoHS regulation aims to limit the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.
The RoHS regulation restricts six substances used in electronic products. These substances include:
Mercury
cadmium
lead
Chrome VI
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
The RoHS regulation imposes restrictions on manufacturers of electronic components and electronic products, as well as restrictions on the content of restricted substances.
These restrictions play an important role in reducing the use of substances used in electronic products to protect the environment.
